News Concerning K-8 Schools
February 11, 2016

Parents/Guardians:

First, I’d like to thank you for your feedback regarding a calendar revision for the 2015-2016 school year. After comparing savings to the hardship on Turkey Ford families, the board made a decision to reduce the calendar by five (5) days instead of twelve (12) and change April 8th and May 6th, originally built-in snow days, to May 12th and 13th. The last day of school will be May 11th.

URGENT! There are several bills in legislation being considered that would result in closing all PK-6 and PK-8 public schools, including Turkey Ford School.  If you are happy with the education your child is receiving and believe the faculty/staff are doing a good job, we would appreciate you letting them know at the capitol in Oklahoma City.

Above are reasons that consolidation is NOT the answer for Oklahoma’s Public Schools. Below this message you will find contact information. PLEASE take time to make calls and send e-mails and tell the legislators that taking our children’s school away is wrong and that you are against forced consolidation.  WE NEED YOUR HELP!  Representative Lee Denney is running her bill at 10:30 AM this Monday, February 15th at the Capitol. Please make your calls tomorrow (Friday) and first thing Monday morning. Thank you in advance for your help!

Proudly Educating Children,

Mrs. Larson
